What happens to our skin as we age?
Our skin’s natural regenerative process begins to slow down at age 25, and the properties that keep it firm and supple continue to fade as you age. Hormonal changes and the effects of the sun and other weather conditions all factor in on your skin’s negative health and appearance, leaving it dry, tight, red, loose and lacking its youthful color and glow.
Even though the look of your parched skin, expression lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and reduced elasticity seems like a dire skin situation, there is hope. Read below to see how IPL Skin Rejuvenation can bring your skin back to life.
What is IPL Skin Rejuvenation?
During IPL Skin Rejuvenation, small pulses of light are applied to the skin, where it is then transformed into heat. The heat stimulates the creation of new elastin and collagen coils, restoring the elastic networks under the skin. The effect is increased elasticity and luminosity, as well as a light filling out of the skin. The end result is a younger, more brilliant skin that is noticeable from the first treatment!
What areas can be treated with IPL?
The face, neck, chest and hands – all the critical areas.
What should I expect?
Throughout the course of a complete treatment, your skin will feel firmer and smoother, and its tone will even out. Watch your blemishes disappear, age spots and sun damage go away, and fine lines fade into nothing more than a bad memory. Your skin’s texture and overall complexion will improve dramatically – and there is no down time or recovery period.
Is the treatment painful?
Tolerance levels certainly vary, but in most cases clients say they feel no pain, just a slight heat sensation that is minimal and tolerable.
Before and After Care
Before you come in for your IPL treatment, you’ll want to avoid sun exposure – including sunbeds – for a minimum of two weeks. You’ll also want to stay away from chemical peels and other cosmetic treatments such as botox or fillers. To extend the benefits of your IPL skin rejuvenation treatment, consider incorporating BodyBrite’s Rose Hip Aloe
and Rose Hip SPF
into your daily beauty routine.
Prior to your IPL treatment, you will be asked if you have taken any antibiotics. The use of antibiotics within two weeks prior to your treatment can cause photosensitivity to the IPL treatments, so we kindly ask that you schedule your appointment at least two weeks after the last dose of your antibiotics.
